Commander Key in Type 'Til You Jump

Web build bugs: tiles sometimes render with gaps.

A gamejam game made over four days. (I didn't start until Feb 18.)

Commander Key is looking for coins, but there's some type of interference. You need to unscramble the words to help him progress.

Use your keyboard to enter the letters. Case doesn't matter. Use backspace to undo mistakes. Get it right and Commander Key can move forward. Wrong, and he'll hit a setback.

None of the words are proper nouns (places, people, etc).

Secret Codes

Use F1 to switch to typing mode -- type the word correctly to advance. Try typing as fast as you can without making mistakes!

Use F2 to switch to unscramble mode -- figure out the scrambled up words.

Future Ideas

I'd hoped to add enemies you have to avoid, but I don't think I'll have time.

Toy Box Jam Hard Mode

The game is built in love2d, but I think it follows the restrictions of Toy Box Jam 3's Hard Mode: only using provided assets without any modification. I had to build the love-compatible image font at runtime (since pico-8 style font images aren't supported) and rebuild the player sprite sheet at runtime (to add padding and prevent artifacts).

This uses the additional fonts (threefonts) from trove02. I figured out trove01, and use neato_16_8 from there (except it's actually the fixed one from the forums. I didn't have time to add enemies from tbj3_sprites or randomgfx2.

One Game a Month Theme

The One Game a Month #9 theme was "End Where You Started". For some reason, I kept reading that as "Back to Where you Started" so my levels are simple looping where you start in the same spot. Fortunately, the theme is optional : D
